The 2022 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs are set to begin on May 2, and they will wrap up at some point in June. During that stretch, one of the best postseason events in all of the sports will take place.
Sixteen teams will compete for a chance to hoist one of the greatest trophies in all of the sports, and there are going to be some surprises along the way. Seeds don’t usually matter in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and sometimes being lucky is better than being good.
Here is a look at the future betting odds to win the 2022 Stanley Cup.
Two Teams Ahead of the Pack
The Stanley Cup betting odds have been changing throughout the regular season, but there have been two teams that have remained at the top of the list. The Colorado Avalanche (+320) and the Florida Panthers (+550) have put together terrific regular seasons, and both teams appear to have very few weaknesses.
Colorado is terrific on both sides of the ice, and goaltender Darcy Kuemper can be a key in the postseason. The Avalanche should be fully healthy to begin this run, and that’s scary for teams in the Western Conference.
Florida has a team that just continues to score goals at a record rate, and that offense will be a nightmare for opponents in the playoffs. The Panthers are not an experienced group in the postseason, but it might not matter with how talented they are.
Don’t Forget About This Group
If the Avalanche or Panthers don’t win the title, then there are a handful of teams that will make solid betting options. The Eastern Conference feels much tougher than the West, but the Avalanche have some talented teams to deal with.
The Tampa Bay Lightning are in this group, and they have won each of the last two Stanley Cup titles. Tampa Bay will be a slight underdog this time around, but they are good enough to win it again.
