FanDuel Daily Fantasy Sports Review

FanDuel DFS Sportsbook Review

FanDuel is an online bookmaker originally founded in 2009. FanDuel is the second largest Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) contest service in the United States behind Draftkings.

The company was initially a DFS only provider but through a series of mergers and acquisitions along with the growing legalization of sports betting in America the company has transitioned into an Online Sportsbook provider as well.

In 2016 the company attempted a merger with it’s largest competitor Draftkings, however, the merger caused the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to threaten the company with litigation stating the merger would create a monopoly. The merger was discontinued.

In 2018 the Fanduel company agreed to be acquired by Paddy Power BetFair company which was immediately renamed to Flutter Entertainment.

FanDuel FDS Loyalty Program:

Does FanDuel have a loyalty program just for Daily Fantasy Sports players? You better believe it, and it is awesome!

The program is called the Fanduel Players Club where you earn Fanduel Points (FDP’s). In your player account you will go to the “rewards center” where FanDuel offers one of the most interactive, gamified, loyalty programs you can find on any daily fantasy site or online sportsbook.

FDP’s can be used towards extra entries, extra rewards and extra contests. 5 FDP’s are earned for every $1 spent entering in paid contests. FDP’s earned is the amount of FanDuel points you earned in a given month. FDP’s earned within the month is how you qualify for different free contests and promotions.

The FDP’s earned expire at the end of the month. Your actual FDP redeemable points, that can be used to redeem contest entries, and other perks, carry over from month to month. The confusing part is the redeemable point FDP’s and the monthly earned FDP’s have the same name, hard to explain, but easy to understand once you start playing. Many loyalty programs like Caesars differentiate these types of points with names like Tier Credits(Loyalty Level, Non Spendable) and Reward Credits (Spendable Balance).

The Fanduel Players Club has 11 status levels. At level 8 or “MVP” level you will qualify for premium customer support aka their VIP customer support. At “Hall of Famer” status you will be assigned a dedicated VIP account rep. You can be sure at this level and above you will be showered with all types of perks, gifts, and promotions. At 25,000 FDP’s to earn MVP status you are looking at a minimal of $5000 spent on paid contests per month to be considered a VIP at FanDuel DFS.
