Vandy should have their hands full vs the Rebels of Ole Miss

The 0-3 Vanderbilt Commodores will be welcoming Ole Miss to Nashville this weekend. The Rebels are currently favored by 15.5 and I don’t see how Vanderbilt gets anywhere close to that. After their valiant effort in Week 1 against Texas A&M, Vanderbilt has returned to their old ways of being the laughingstock of the SEC. On average they are scoring 8 points a game, that’s it just 8. The team has had more COVID outbreaks than points scored. They are down to only their last 56 Scholarship players and the head coach of Vandy said he was glad the bye week came when it did because they would not have had enough players to field a team. The quote he gave to the Tennessean on October 12th was “we’re a shell of a team.”

This does not bode well for the Commodores because on top of their poor offensive production their defense has given up 41 points in each of their last two games. The only bright spot for Ole Miss has been offense. Their offense is averaging almost 35 points a game. I think Ole Miss gets ahead of the Commodores early and never looks back. I could see the Rebels winning this game by at least 20 so I am not sweating the 15.5.

The Pick: Ole Miss -15.5
