Meadowlands Moneymakers is your guide to picks and prop bets on all Giants and Jets games. This week I’ll be covering the games separately, with the Giants playing on Thursday Night and the Jets on Sunday.

Giants vs Patriots – Thursday at 8pm on Fox, NFL and Prime The Giants did the impossible: they made Kirk Cousins look great. A week after the Chicago Bears stuffed Minnesota’s run-heavy Dalvin Cook-powered offense, QB Kirk Cousins woke up and briefly lived up to his monster contract on the road in a Week 5 28-10 victory against the Giants. Cousins put up a 306-yard two-TD game, while Big Blue’s defense let the Vikings elegantly integrate Cook as both runner and receiver – with the star RB finishing with 132 yards on the ground, and ripping off 86 yards from 6 receptions.

Thursday night, the Giants face what is likely the toughest matchup of their season, playing at New England on short rest. While there was talk of Saquon Barkley possibly making a return, it looks now as if RBs Jonathan Hilliman and Elijhaa Penny will split carries. That means the Patriots defensive pressures will intensify on QB Daniel Jones. He will be without concussed WR Sterling Shepard, while Evan Engram is hobbled with a sprained MCL. Patriots vs. Giants Teaser: I’ll be taking a 7-point teaser from PointsBet that has the Patriots winning by 10, and the total score will be UNDER 48.5 points.  If ever there were a good night for a home team and UNDER teaser, it’s Thursday in New England. So which players will stand out for bettors on Thursday night? Here are three props (1 Giant, two Pats) worth putting money on:

Meadowlands Money Makers Top Prop Bets

Top Prop #1 Giants score over 1.5 Touchdowns $100 to win $125 (+125) @ PointsBet
This may seem like a team prop – but make no mistake, it is all about Daniel Jones, and how he handles being a big underdog against the best team in the NFL on their home turf. Just how much confidence do sites like PointsBet have in Tom Brady’s offense scoring twice as many touchdowns as Danny Dimes’ guys? Well, their line for New England scoring over 3.5 TDs is +117. The line for the Giants to score over 1.5 TDs? +125. I’ll take the latter, thank you. Since New England has scored 30 or more in 4 of 5 games, I’m betting they get their 4 ground/air/defense scores here. But don’t count out Jones in this one. After a rough week against the Vikings D, I think he bounces back. Not enough to win, but enough to scratch out at two TDs on Thursday night in Foxborough. Top Prop #2 Julian Edelman will get 125+ receiving yards $100 to win $375 (+375) @ PointsBet
Both the Giants and the Patriots have talented receiving corps, which their QBs lean on to move the chains. For Daniel Jones, his mainstay across the middle has been TE Evan Engram, who has played all five games and piled up 373 yards on 33 catches with two TDs.

For Brady, its the 10 years-strong connection with Julian Edelman, who has also played five games, and tallied 336 yards on 29 catches with two TDs. Both pass-catchers also have 100+ yard receiving games to their credit. For Engram, it was 116 against Dallas in Week 1, and his 113 yards against Tampa Bay in Danny Dimes’ monster debut as starting QB. For Edelman, it was last week’s 110 yards against Washington. This week, playing at home, PointsBet pinned the odds of Edelman revisiting triple digits at +190. But I’m going a step further, and say he’s going to surpass 125, with a PB line of +375. Top Prop #3 Tom Brady’s longest completion will be 55+ Yards $100 to win $325 (+325) @ PointsBet
At 42 years old, Tom Brady has continued to be a dominating offensive weapon in 2019, whose arm accuracy is a danger to connect on a long bomb basically every single play. That danger, though, has rarely turned to reality this season. In fact, he hasn’t connected on a pass longer than 41 yards, since his 58-yarder to Phillip Dorsett in Week 1 against the Steelers. For a despicable talent like Brady, that is way too long. He’s due, and would relish unleashing a 55+ yard reception to demoralize only team to beat him in a Super Bowl (Twice!).
