The Stanley Cup Playoffs don’t begin until May 2, 2022. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t take a look at the teams leading the race at the sportsbook. Certain teams have performed rather well this year, while others have disappointed.

A few teams have some great odds to win the 2022 Stanley Cup. Currently, the Colorado Avalanche still leads the group with +450 odds to win. This shouldn’t come as much of a shock since the Avalanche are currently 32-8-4.
They’ve played incredibly well over the last few seasons, making them the favorite. However, slowly approaching them is the 2021 winner.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have climbed in the 2022 Stanley Cup Champion odds. Currently, they’re +700, still significantly behind the Colorado Avalanche, though.
The Lightning are 30-10-6 and have put up 66 points as of today. You can see they’re making a strong push at this point in the season. The real question is, are they a team you should take to win it all again?
2022 Stanley Cup Champion Underdogs
This is an interesting area because some of these teams could end up being favorites in the near future. For instance, the Florida Panthers are still an underdog, but they’re rising quickly with a +750 chance to win.
The Panthers are a strong team and currently lead the Atlantic Division over the Lightning. Still, they have slimmer chances to win than Tampa Bay does.
A team that went from being a favorite to an underdog is the Vegas Golden Knights. Not long ago, they were +650 and right behind the Avalanche. Now, they’ve fallen to +800 odds, which isn’t bad, but not nearly as good.
They currently lead the Pacific Division with a 27-16-3 record. They also just had an impressive 3-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning a few nights ago.

There are a few teams that we like to win the Stanley Cup this year. However, we won’t be taking the +450 Colorado Avalanche. Instead, we’ll go with the former champions to win it all again, the Tampa Bay Lightning +700.
For starters, the payout would be incredible; they also have performed really well in the playoffs. Based on experience, we’re rolling with the Lightning.
As far as underdogs go, the Florida Panthers are an interesting choice. They’re +750 and actually lead the Atlantic Division with a 30-10-5 record.
If there’s a team that can beat the Lightning, it’s the Panthers, and they’ve done it before. Not long ago, they put up nine goals against Tampa Bay in a game they won 9-3.
