If you’re not listening to the Bill Simmons Podcast on The Ringer, you should. Bill Simmons and Joe House discuss the games in a segment called “Million Dollar Picks”. During the segment Bill wagers one million dollars (imaginary?) on the slate of NFL Games.
Bill does the picks solo this week, having bumped Joe House for another guest. The picks are a little shorter and there is no teaser basket this week. Also Bill must have been in a hurry, because this was the first segment with zero Kendall Roy references.

Home Favorites that Bill Likes this week…
Bill starts by admitting that he did terrible last week. He lost every pick. Tampa, The Bears, and a few others really messed up the Million Dollar Picks.
This week he’s going to stress home favorites in the picks.
Jacksonville is at home vs. New Orleans. Bill thinks this is the week that people realize Nick Foles will never play for the Jags again. He’s not sold on Teddy B outdoors. This is a must win game for Jacksoville, but not for New Orleans. Even though he considers New Orleans a top 5 team, It’s a field goal game and Bill likes Jacksonville
The Rams are in a must win situation at home -4 points against San Fransisco . At home vs a division rival. HE still believes in this Rams Team. Bill is not sold on the SF receivers and we haven’t seen the 49ers play from behind “This is a kitchen sink game” with Gerald Everett making a big contribution for LA. He likes the Rams.
Bill is betting against Marioata and doesn’t think the Titans are good. He’s taking the Broncos. Their losses don’t seem so bad now. They took care of business last week and he’s not sure they are out of this yet at 1-4. Mariota was really bad last week.
The Vikings are -3 vs Philly. Bill believes in the home advantage and the defense for Minnesota. Looking at The Eagles, they’ve had some bad losses. Atlanta for example. They might have lost to Green Bay if Adams didn’t get hurt. The Vikings can grab and protect a lead.
