Complete Effort

The Sixers sent the San Antonio Spurs to their 8th straight loss, with a 115-104 win. As expected, Demar DeRozan led the scoring with 29. He also didn’t attempt a three-pointer. LeMarcus Aldridge chipped in 17. He also only had six rebounds.

Philadelphia easily won the boards, 51-32. All five Philly starters scored in double figures. Ben Simmons had a triple double. Their scoring was led by Tobias Harris’ 26. Joel Embiid dropped 21 points and 14 rebounds in 28 minutes. He was complemented by Al Horford’s 18 and 9. Both big men played the first night of a home back-to-back. After such an easy victory, it’s expected they’ll also play tonight’s more difficult second-game opponent.

NBA Betting Preview – Heat @ 76ers

Sat. 11/23 at 8:00 PM

The Miami Heat have started the season with a solid 11-3 record. They’re also coming off the first night of road back-to-back games. Both of their opponents have something in common: they employed Jimmy Butler. This is a bad thing for defenders. Last night, Butler torched the Bulls for 27 points, seven assists, and five rebounds. This was the Butler who was a consistent threat for Philly during his 55 games for them, last season. Tonight, he sets his sights on knocking off his former squad.

The Pick:

As with last night, four-of-five main Sixers starters look good to go. Josh Richardson was traded from Miami to Philly in the Butler trade, but is day-to-day with a hip flexor strain. Both teams will be a bit winded on the second night of a back-to-back. However, the home squad played both of theirs at Wells Fargo Center. That edge, combined with Philly’s distinct size advantage means I’ll take them to win as 4-point favorites tonight.

Where to bet this:

As usual, PointsBet is offering the best odds for Philadelphia as -4 favorites, with a payout of -105 ($105 win $100). Caesars is offering the same spread with a -110 payout, while Unibet, Sugarhouse and DraftKings have a payout of -112 on the same spread.

Top Player Prop:

Tobias Harris had a big night against the lowly Spurs with 26 points in 35 minutes. He becomes more of a scoring threat when the opposition is distracted by Embiid and Simmons. Tonight is no exception. I’m going to PointsBet and taking a -120 wager that Harris scores more than 16.5 points.
