Pitching Changes Will No Longer Cancel Bets At Most Sportsbooks.
Listed Pitchers aren’t a thing anymore when it comes to MLB betting in the US. Along with a few other betting sportsbook rule changes for the shortened 2020 MLB season, no listed pitchers has gone into effect industry-wide. Previously, a bet would have been cancelled if there was a change to either teams starting pitcher before the first pitch. But now, all bets are considered ‘action bets’ no matter who starts the game on the mound.
While the general public might not be that aware of ‘listed pitchers’, this change has been a tough baseball betting pill for sharp bettors to swallow. After-all, what changes the betting outlook on a game more than who is pitching?

The Indiana and New Jersey online sportsbook has announced that it will void all MLB Runline, Moneyline and Total bets this season when pitchers change. We actually saw this happen on opening night when Clayton Kershaw went onto the IL just a few hours before the first pitch of SF vs LAD.
Voiding bets when pitchers change will be the policy at PointsBet until further notice. The only exception is if pitchers are not listed at the time the bet is placed. Then it is considered an action bet.
The policy change at PointsBet is another example of the sportsbook taking the player friendly route on a controversial matter.
