Top Tour Star Quits After Crazy Melt Down at the 3M Open.

What is wrong with Dustin Johnson? The favorite to be the outright winner at the PGA Tour 3M Open this week has withdrawn after an opening round 78. What seemed like a just bunch of bad breaks for DJ during a missed cut at the Memorial last week, started to look like a serious problem today at the 3M. His round included 3 bogies, a double and a quadruple bogie on the easiest hole (the par 5 18th). The former world #1 hit 3 consecutive balls in the water en route to a 9. It was a “Tin Cup” like scene that left many DFS players and golf bettors wondering if DJ might have totally lost it.

This WD caused a bad beat of epic proportions for golf fans with money riding on DJ. Bettors won’t be able to cross their finders and hope he makes it to the weekend, and fantasy players will be left with a negative number in their lineups. At DraftKings Sportsbook, 12% of the first round leader bets were on DJ as were 8% of the outright winner bets.

There are NO Bad Beats at PointsBet.

However, those lucky enough to have placed their betting action on Dustin Johnson at PointsBet won’t have to worry. They are getting a refund courtesy of the now famous PB ‘Karma Kommittee’. PointsBet honchos started the bad beat-fighting initiative several years ago and have been refunding unfair losses ever since. This includes those who lost on the Saints in the 2018 NFC Championship Game, Yankees World Series backers who were ripped off by the Astros and anyone who (for some reason) bet on Mitch Trubisky to be the NFL MVP last year.

Now PointsBet is stepping in for good karma with PGA Tour bettors who backed Dustin Johnson this week. All outright winner bets on DJ at the 3M Open will be refunded.
