Betfred USA Sports Enters The US Sports Betting Playing Field With Bevy Of Partnerships
Betfred USA Sports, a US subsidiary of the UK based Betfred Group, has been making a rapid-fire series of big partnership announcements in the last two weeks.
Betfred Group is a well known international sportsbook operator with over 1600 betting shops in the UK and leading online and mobile products in the UK, Spain, and now, the USA. The company is the worlds largest privately owned retail bookmaker.

It is clear that the Betfred Group has taken a very calculated and quiet approach to entering the US market. They did not rush to enter but has instead has been making deals behind the scenes and building up their leadership team. Let’s take a look at the timeline of announcements over the past 9months.
Betfred USA Sports Iowa Partnership – 1st US Deal – July 2019
The Betfred group announced their very first US based partnership in The Hawkeye State, Iowa. In this agreement, Betfred group partnered with The Grand Falls Casino and Golf Resort in Larchwood, Iowa. The deal claimed to include an on-premise sportsbook and online & mobile wagering.

Appointment of Bryan Bennet as US Chief Operating Officer – November 2019
Betfred Group announced that after a thorough search process the company landed on Bryan Bennet to spearhead their US operations and all of the duties that entails. The company claimed it was due to Bryan’s shared vision and exemplary track record that they decided on him being the best candidate.
Prior to this appointment Bennet was Sr. Vice President of Interactive at AGS.
This was the first release observed with the new US entity Betfred USA Sports. Since this release the company has been quiet until the last two weeks when they release 4 major announcements.
Betfred USA Sports sign agreement for Colorado Sports Betting Operations – January 23rd, 2020
In a new partnership with Saratoga Casino Blackhawk in the State of Colorado, Betfred USA Sports announced they would be rolling out with a brand new on-premise sportsbook as well as mobile, and internet betting.
Betfred USA Sports partners with Wind Creek Bethlehem, PA – January 24th, 2020
Perhaps what could be the biggest deal out of all the recent announcements for Betfred. A new partnership was announced in Pennsylvania for Betfred to launch sports betting with an on-premise sportsbook at the massive Wind Creek Casino & Resort property (Formerly Sands Casino Bethlehem).
This partnership will also include the use of Wind Creeks casino license to launch online sports betting operations across the keystone state.
Betfred USA Sports Grand Opening of 1st US sportsbook in IA- January 27th 2020
From paper, to reality in only 6 months. Betfred announced the grand opening of their 1st bricks and mortar sportsbook. The company calls the new 3500 sqft facility a ‘Vegas Syle’ sportsbook with 80 screens and an array of lounge style seating accommodations.
The goal was to have the sportsbook live in time for Superbowl. The company mentioned that online gaming in Iowa would launch within the next month in time for NCAA March Madness sports betting.
Online sports betting in Iowa requires players to complete their registration in person at a land based sportsbook. This has caused Iowa sports betting revenue to only trickle in initially. This law will only be in place until 2021.
Betfred USA announces software partnership with Scientific Games in PA – February 5th 2020
The Betfred and Scientific Games partnership includes an “end to end” solution for Betfred sportsbooks. This means that Scientific games will handle both the land based and online betting platform for Betfred. While the release only mentions Pennsylvania it is logical that Betfred will use SG digitals Opensports platform in all online sports betting offerings across the US.
UK Affiliate Networks Moving Fast Towards US Market
The Props Network has been hearing whispers that many of the large international affiliate networks are excited about Betfred’s US entrance. There has been quite a bit of chatter as a result about Betfred launching in New Jersey and we anticipate another big announcement coming soon regarding Betfred USA Sports entering NJ with online sports betting.
