Breaking news from the PointsBet Karma Kommittee. A week after refunding all New Orleans Pelicans bets on opening night of the NBA season, another player friendly ruling has been made.

PointsBet will refund all bets on Mitchell Trubisky to win MVP this season, as a result of the pre-season hype train that drove many players to take this wager.

There was MVP buzz surrounding the Bears QB in the offseason

After opening at 100-1, steady action moved the line to 55-1. Now, poor play and an injury have sent Mitch’s MVP future odds sky rocketing to 5000-1 (that’s a +50,000 payout if nearly every other NFL player retires mid-season, leaving the NFL with no other choice for MVP).

“When we launched the Karma Kommittee and our Good Karma Payouts, it was never just about correcting a blown call” said PointsBet USA CEO, Johnny Aitken. “Good Karma Payouts are all about spreading good will, and that’s what we have here. Trubisky’s season has not quite played out in the manner that the preseason hype train suggested and pushed public opinion, so as a result, we thought it only right to have the backs of our bettors and refund Trubisky MVP bets in full”.

This is not the first time that the Karma Kommittee has issued a bettor friendly verdict

Last year, PB refunded Saints bettors who lost as a result of a blown call in the NFC Championship game. Also, the Kommittee made news for paying back wagers on a 2019 Stanley Cup Playoff game, when the Sharks beat the Blues due to a missed hand pass call.
